COOKHAM DEAN VILLAGE FETE, THE OLD CRICKET COMMON, COOKHAM DEAN 14 SEPT
The quintessential village fete returns to Cookham Dean this weekend with vintage cars, bhangra dancing, animal petting, flying birds of prey and the infamous dog show. This will be fuelled by many food stalls and of course the beer tent.
Transport yourself back to a time of bonnets and top hats at the fun-filled family festival.
Attractions across the Castle will include falconry and horse-riding displays, storytelling, musical performances, opportunities to dress in authentic Victorian costumes, as well as a thrilling centrepiece: a Victorian circus troupe, inspired by the travelling menagerie that visited Windsor Castle in 1847.

BEAR EXHIBITION AT RIVER & ROWING MUSEUM HENLEY UNTIL 3 NOV
The Museum is bursting with Bears! Revisit your favourite stories and meet some of literature’s most famous bears, including Rupert and Winnie-the-Pooh, before discovering new stories filled with polar bears, panda bears and toy bears. Original artwork and manuscripts featured in the exhibition include Hugless Douglas, Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Bear and The Piano and Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials.
TRAYLENS FUNFAIR MAIDENHEAD TOWN MOOR 6 - 15 SEPT
All the fun of the Fair will be on Maidenhead Town Moor this weekend.
COOKHAM AND MAIDENHEAD ARTS TRAIL VARIOUS LOCATIONS 14 & 15 Sept
A free event and all are welcomed and encouraged to take a look at the diverse range of arts on display. The purpose is to promote high quality visual arts in the area and encourage participation in the arts by inspiring the public with such work by artists and makers, demonstrating artistic practice and process. Artists are delighted to meet with the public and this is an informal and convivial way for artist and public to meet. The piece below is by La forge designs, a collection designed and made by Sarah Clark. Using traditional making methods, the pieces incorporate texture and movement using influences from nature.

MUD KIDS OXFORD 14 & 15 SEPT
Taking place in the Great Tew Estate, the Mud Kids course makes optimum use of the natural beauty of the Oxfordshire countryside. Running through lush fields, up and down hills, and through woodland obstacles are carefully curated from the natural beauty. From climbing walls, crawling stations, great big belly laugh inducing slides, piles of hay bales to navigate, and intricate spiders’ webs to wiggle through, to much more besides.
Ideal for families, it is advised that events are best suited to children over the age of 4, and that parents or responsible adults take part with children aged 4-8 years old.
LIONS OF WINDSOR TRAIL UNTIL 28 OCT
Pick up a trail map for the trail of decorated lions which will take pride of place on the streets of the Royal Borough, from Windsor to Eton, Ascot, Datchet, Maidenhead and beyond, from World Lion Day on Saturday 10th August. The beautifully decorated lion sculptures will remain in place until 27th October and will then be auctioned to raise funds for charity.
